Any one have the answer.
I am considering buying a new 2007 street bob, but am wondering if I should wait for the 2008 to come out in August just incase something new is done to the bike. My question is this…… Are the changes that are made from year to year, if any are made worth waiting for, and if a change is made could you make the change on the 2007 to look just like the 08 anyways? What kind of changes do they make from year to year? A freind of mine told me that they never make drastic changes and that any change they do make I would be able to have done on the 2007.
The Dyna line has changed drastically since I bought my 2004. 2005 wasn't much, but in 2006, all of the Dyna line got the 6-speed tranny, the last year for any carbureted bikes and more emissions controls, 2007 everything got bumped to 96" from the previoue 88 cubes and even more pollution stuff, everything now is EFI.
If you wait for the 2008's, you may notice a few subtle improvements, but I'm sure the prices will go up accordingly. If you buy a 2007, by the time the 09's and 10's come out, you'll see even more chanages, but year to year, things tend not to take quantum leaps.

At this point, your guess is as good as anyone's about the '08 models. Major changes were made to the Dyna in '06 and even more (TC96) in '07, so if I had to guess, I would THINK they might be inclined to leave it alone in '08. In any case, if you find something you like at the right price NOW, I wouldn't hesitate...
If you're willing to wait out the year to see the changes from 07 to 08, go for it. If there are no major changes the worst that will happen is that they'll knock off some cash on the 07 if they have any in stock (they always do). I was looking at Super Glides in January/February and had two dealers willing to come down over 2k on the 06 model...one without even asking and the other with a little haggling. The line "why buy an 06 for 15 when I can buy an 07 for 15.5" did the trick nicely. Another dealer I went to said "I did my job and got rid of them" when I asked about 06 models. I wouldguess the dealers get some heat from the brass about moving the old product, so deals will be made.
Ultimately I went with the Low Rider, but that's all part of the shopping experience.

one thing. good luck finding a 2007 when the 2008's come out. the bob always sells fast. buy the bike now and you will have the summer to ride man !!! just my 9 cents worth. you can wait your life away on future changes. yes, there will always be small changes every year. good marketing <g> dicker. you may get some stuff tossed in.if you lucky. buy one today . good luck bro.
If you want a bike, find the one you like and buy it. Can't see any major changes for this next year but who knows?
If you wait you're just wasting riding time.[sm=biker.gif]

I would not wait for an 08. This is probably a very good time to buy an 07, because the union production workers have probably finally figured out how to build the new Dyna line. Since the first 13,400 they screwed up for the 2006 lineup, things have gotten steadily better.
The 2006 and up Dynas, have very little in common with 2005 and earlier models, except the twin cam engine, and paint.
