Default looking for mellow pipes

Hey folks -- new to the Dyna family and have a question for you all -- just pulled the trigger on a 2015 Fat Bob -- the Sporty '48 just kicking my butt, literally and decided to invest in something a bit more comfortable....

i'd like to get the bike sounding like an HD tho, and i am looking for a deep, resonant but not ear-destroying rumble. I have heard that Rinehart really delivers. (i have V&H two-into-one on the '48 and the tone is great but just a bit louder than i want on the Fat Bob).

thoughts?

I use a V&H Power Pro 2-1 on an 07 Dyna. I am very happy with it. it is relitavly quiet at suburban speeds and not too loud at highway speeds. having said that my workday has me leaving home at 5.30 am. If I were to use it to commute, I would want to quiet it down a bit, because I like my neighbours.

Different pipe manufacturers make quiet baffles. Pick up the phone or search YouTube for some clip and talk to the companies. Decide on that and narrow it down to what style you want. 2-1 or 2-2

Supertrapp Supermeg 2 into 1. You can get the sound quite or loud. I use 15 disk and open end cap. Great sound. The cops even tell me how good it sounds when stopped at traffic lights.

Yeah, you can make the supertrapp as quiet as you want since it is adjustable. It runs real well too. It is definitely not a loud pipe or as one tuner said "it is easy on the ears".

I have the thunder header on my 14 fat bob. I like it it's really throaty. I leave for work at 5:00 am and it's no louder than my cummins diesel until you really crack the throttle.

Thumbs up

If you want just a deep mellow tone while cruising and a he-man Harley sound when you get on it the stock 2 into 2 factory pipes with the baffles removed is just the ticket . Not too quiet but not loud at all until you roll it on & even then its just a pleasingly rumbling along , plus there is a big increase in HP & torque over just about everything but a 2 into 1 performance pipe .

I'll echo the supertrapp, nice that's its adjustable as well for volume and torque. Here's a video clip of mine with closed end and 20 disks. I've also played with open end and 16 disks which I liked but preferred the volume for now of the former.

If you want a 2:1, then take a look at D&D exhausts. I think the word deep was invented specifically for them. Great sounding pipes, with excellent performance and a little bit different too.

I have the BobCat on my Fat Bob and it's really deep and mellow at idle and low cruising speeds, but it really roars when you crank the throttle.
