squeezing a little more out of my 103
I have my '15 FXDL which is basically stock, with the exception of a AC, a Supertrapp 2:1 pipe, and a PV. Had a dyno tune done, and she runs great. 77hp and 95ftlbs. Very happy. Until I rode the new Fat Boy S at my dealer. Wasn't looking to buy anything (I LOVE my Low Rider) but my buddy was there testing a bike, and my sales guy forced me to ride it.
Anyway, I still have years of warranty left, so I don't want to do anything that involves aftermarket engine parts. I have a good relationship with my dealer, and even though I'm a year into it, they would take care of warranty issues - if I use HD parts.
So, aside from a full 110 kit, what's a good upgrade, cams?, heads, or what? TBH the S was really nice, but with my tune, it didn't feel crazily faster, only a bit. What can I do to make up that "bit"?
I want to keep my bike vs. trading her in, as I just got it just where I want. I just need some more kick.
Thanks

I didn't even consider it. There's a lot I don't like about the LR-S - the gold wheels and the rear fender are two big ones.

the fender and wheels are easily remedied.... the gizmos are repulsive to me. why complicate motorcycle controls... no bueno for me. touring folks have been getting along just fine though.

There is a spot on the 15 Fwy North, in San Diego county, where I pull out from Miramar rd. I have a bit mor than 1/4 mile to cross 5 lanes through traffic to get into the dedicated HOV Lane. I do wind it out there...and the speedo is seeing the last of the double digits by the time I get to the HOV Lane. And damn...it sounds great.

Yep. That's where I'm going I think.
My local dealer gave me a ballpark of 7-7.5 hours for a cam install. That, the cams at $330, the install kit at $110 and I'm looking at about $1200. Wondering if they priced that as pulling the tank and rocker covers to use the stock pushrods... I guess I should ask that huh. Otherwise I need a set of the e-z in pushrods.
The I gotta add the +\- $400 for the dyno run. So ballpark $1600... Gah.
