I got nothing left today, so I am decompressing with some PWD and a (single) beer. Then some Wynonna Earp and bed.

I close my eyes but all I see is red.
I bite my tongue but all I taste is blood.
...
Show me war. Show me pestilence. Show me the blood red hands of retribution.
...
The dogs of war, they come for blood...but it will not. be. mine!

Well, gonna have to change gears slightly. the threads of the first version won't take the load so I've gotta rethink the nut design. The shaft is all set, tho, I believe...

A snapshot of the FEA for one version. The bend is greatly exaggerated. In this example it's actually only about .0009" with a 1000 pound load applied to the drive side bearing.

I,m also working on a light weight design. An internal screw / spanner design won't give you the thread integrity needed.

An external nut with a proprietary socket design for strength and weight reduction seems the best in my opinion.

Titanium is still on the table...I have a great piece left over from several suppressors I built recently.

Pics to come shortly.

Bob, did you get my last couple PMs?

So Less than a Thou? ... looks like the Brake side (unless the adjuster blocks are rotated backwards) ... :)

Yeah, less than a thousandth. It's just a representative stack up. I wasn't worried about orientation. Guess I should have just said the load was applied to one bearing only. Obviously there are more loads and constraints involved but I was just comparing the stock axle to my designs.

Just kiddin' ya on which bearing side cause you went to the trouble to state a side :)

You're a wiley one! Hard to keep up. :)
