Default What should I do while gas tank is removed?

My tank has had two decent turn signal dents since before I owned it (I have relocated the signals, so it won't ever happen again). I now have an OEM FXDX replacement tank (it's never been on a bike and is fully painted and silk screened). I would like to take advantage of having the tank off to perform some work that is difficult with the tank in place. Here's what's on my list right now:

-Replace upper rocker box gaskets (they weep a little bit in a couple of places)
-Check rear wheel vertical alignment and correct if needed
-Install Motion Pro quick disconnect for crossover fuel line

Anything else obvious to look at?

I've been acquiring used parts for a bit to fully assemble the new tank first... I have a fuel float, fuel gauge, gauge gasket, and fuel cap. I also have a used console with decent rubber trim that I'll clean up a bit, and I may even get another high flow petcock. I thought I would fix the dents on the old tank at some point and paint it something wild... With quick disconnects on both tanks and everything else already installed I'll be able to switch between OEM and custom paint anytime I like pretty quickly.

I've started thinking about the SE cam tensioner/oil pump kit... I suppose this would be a good time to tackle that as well (for pushrod access), but I don't know that I really feel like getting into all of that right now...

Any thoughts/suggestions are appreciated!

That's a thought... Thanks!

BTW, I just picked up the two digital tools from your older write-up for checking vertical alignment... Thanks for the tip!

Probably obvious but clean the frame, check for rust and correct.

A quick disconnect for cross over fuel line?

For touring bikes I'd say replace plug wires. But your coil is on side?

I'd you got some miles on map sensor would be easier with tank off. But I did it with tank on. Around $45

Since you are pulling the rocker covers off might be worth the little extra time and effort to replace the breather filters......

When you take them off to replace the gaskets, check your rocker covers on a flat surface for warpage. If they're warped don't reuse them, they'll leak as bad or worse than before.
