Default Se117 and wheelies

hey everyone I ordered my se 117 kit last week, and am curious as to how easy these things will pull wheelies. I have a lrs and the only mods will be the 117, fatcAt, and pv. I'm really hopin I can stomp on it without pullin the wheel off the ground. I know it'll break the tire loose and that's fine I just don't want to do wheelies. If you can do em, more power to ya, but that ***** just not for me. So what do you guys with 117s think? How fast do you have to move before you can hit it without pullin the wheel off the ground or spinning the tire?

Can't speak for the 117 since I don't have one, but I would think you need to be putting down some serious power to wheelie just by applying throttle...I think if you're not trying to wheelie you'd be okay.

Are you going to be running stock heads and what about a cam change?

Have you spoke with any head workers that do this for a living and got their input about possibilities?

I'm just thinking asking about, I don't know what the possibilites are for your motor and that kit? Be worth it to find out though since the heads have to come off.
You could be looking at a very significant gain that may be worth it since all the parts are off

But, then you may want to think about bolstering the bottom end and how to beef up the clutch, I would think this would make wheelies so much more pleasurable with gobs of torque to back it up

I vote for headwork and damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead

That's what I figured but just wanted to see what others have to say. For now I'm only doing the 117 kit (58 t body, injectors, 259e cams, etc). I wanted to do heads originally, but have heard a lot of stories about guys who upgraded their heads and had catastrophic failures later. Since I want to retain reliability, I'm only doing what is in the kit. When I find an older street glide with a wasted motor, then I will go all out.

Agreed with DynaKid. No worries about accidentally pulling an out of control wheelie. It just won't happen! You have to make an effort on any Sporty or Big Twin to pull that front end off the ground. You'll just break the tire loose when nailing it.

My vision must be failing me, my mistake, I don't know why but in my mind I thought you were wanting to do wheelies. Don't know how I screwed that up, I better go see a doctor!

No worries, I could definitely see how someone could misread it. Especially cause of the title. But no, wheelies just aren't my thing

Can't speak for the 117 kit cause I don't know the numbers or curve. But my worked over 110 from a conservative tuner puts 117 and 119 to the wheel and the stock tire breaks free and spins more than raising up. And u have to try hard. Normal riding I'm sure you will be f8ne, spirited riding included.
