Practice
all great ideas !!! something i do not see mentioned often is one fact.. it takes abot 100 miles to break in a new tire . they are slick as heck when they are new. i have seen a couple guys go down a mile from where the tire was put on .
Most Motorcycle racing is won in the turns.
The #1 tip for getting better in turns is your relationship with the front wheel.
Don't think of it as just floating out there...
In turns think about how the bike and you are transferring weight to the front wheel.
In most cases if the front sticks in a turn the back will follow.

I know when I took the MSF I was given a little practice book detailing how to set up some of the courses we practiced on. If you have that book buy some tennis *****, cut them in half and set up some turns in a parking lot. Gradually make the turns tighter as you get more comfortable. Also, I have heard great things about the Ride Like a Pro DVDs, though I have not watched them myself.
I recommend you...
