Default On my way to the dark side

Well I finally cracked up and picked myself up a BMW GS1200, being in Germany and having so many mountain roads and hairpin bends to explore, I thought about time to get a second ride, my Fatbob is great but just to heavy to throw through them bends 2 up.

Not sure but all that kit ran me 19.800 thousand euros so not sure what it would cost stateside, but that was with basically everything needed and the full 3 packages, 2 hard cases and hard topcase and latest Garmin Nav6 gps, but more than anything else living next to the black forest, this is a must ride to have, curves are far to tight to enjoy a ride on a Harley, especially as you have thousands of bikes up there riding hard all summer, Sunday is just mental.

Awesome bike! Back in the day (late 60s, early 70's) BMWs were less expensive if purchased in Europe. I seem to remember a program where you could buy an R60 (model?), pick it up at the factory, ride it around in Germany for a week or so, and ship it back to the U.S. as "used", at not much more than the cost of a new bike delivered in the U.S.

Not that I could afford it, back then I was lucky to be able to afford a year-old Honda 305 SuperHawk...I just spent the last two days on the track with a BMW S1000RR, so the awesomeness of the Motorrad's machines is fresh in my mind. Great luck with it!

The most uncomfortable seat I ever sat on. Be prepared to change it out. Ouch!

I had an R1150RT, and the stock seat was terrible as well. I sent it to Bill Mayer Saddle to get redone after having to have my backside surgically reattached after a ride from Dallas to Houston.
