Default 2007 Low Rider not charging

Battery is less than a year old and has been plugged into tender. Went to go for a ride and about 20 miles into it the bike starts spit'n, sputtering, backfiring and bucking like a bull. Any suggestions? TIA

Sounds like your stator.

Have you tested the voltage to the battery? You can cheat and do through the pigtail or across the posts while the bike is idling and at 2000 rpm. Idle = 14.1-14.3v, 2K rpm=14.4-14.8v. Then test stator for continuity. Or pop the derby cover off and if it smells burnt then it's the stator. Check ECU connections for water if you just washed it or drove into some rain.

Stator or regulator. If your ECU isn't receiving the proper voltage it will have difficulty getting the proper signal to the plugs for them to fire.
