Stopped by last week and was able to get a couple of pics before the motor was put totally together:

S&S flywheel assembly. No more wimpy small end rods!

Port work from before.

Should be going tomorrow to see the bike put all together, hoorah!

What did you do with your Thunderheaders after you took them off?

Update. Saw the bike and heard it run on Saturday, 11.02.19. RC upgraded the TB to a HPI 64mm and installed T-man 680 PS1 cams. The porting I showed a few posts before was actually additional porting opening up the intake side for the larger TB. With 11 to 1 compression, it sounds nasty. All the Sputhe stabilizers and Custom Cycle Engineering adjustable front mount was installed. RC stripped the bike again, taking off the parts necessary for the chassis alignment shop to get the bike perfectly aligned. Bike is now there, and should be ready next weekend for pick-up. I'll take some pics once the bike is finally back together. This journey/stage is almost over, lol.

The motor build is only part of the equation. Once you get serious power, everything, and I mean everything, else needs attention, aka $$$$.

First Test Ride Report

Before the guests showed up for Thanksgiving dinner today, and it hadn't rained today, I got to take the bike on a 22 mile run to my PO box and back. The power is everywhere. Low, mid, top end, it pulls. Took it to 5,500+ rpm in 6th gear on a straight away and 5,000+ rpm on a long sweeper. The Sputhe stabilizers do their job. The bike is on rails. The wet spaghetti feeling is gone. No excessive vibrations, and I can't tell the difference before and after with the Sputhe in that regards. Once home, I plugged the rpm and gearing in a calculator. 145 on the straight, and 130 in the sweeper. It was still pulling like a freight train at 5,500 rpm. The exhaust is loud. It rings your ears when you blip it from idle. The throttle is directly connected to your speed. Let off on the throttle, and the motor is immediately braking the bike. It is a beast.

Dave

Side note: When I left, I told my old lady I was going to the PO box. She asked if I wouldn't speed. I was home 45 minutes later, and she asked if I had went to the PO box. I said yes and showed her the mail. She had a puzzled look on her face, and then told me I had been speeding. I laughed and told her that she knows I don't listen.
