Default Motorcycle Reg. Costs More Than Car?

Got the bills for next year's registration for my two Harleys and the fee is the same as my car. Anybody else? I'm in Californy.

In MI the registration fees aren't that high yet. But, we have to pay into a program set up by the insurance coalition called MCCA. In short it covers all medical after $545K when a vehicle, other than another bike, is involved in an accident. If a bike goes off road or hits a deer the MCCA will not pay out after the $545K. This is currently $180.00 per registered vehicle (including M/C), three bikes =$540.00. There were over 240K bikes registered in MI last year. The insurance coalition seems to be untouchable. All vehicles are required by law to be insured. Yea, I feel your pain.

Both of my motorcycles together are considerably less than my truck, and my truck is 10 years old.

I live in Mississippi.

Bike registration here in Ontario, Canada is very reasonable...it’s the insurance that hurts, my bikes are $750 each per yr. that is full coverage including theft. Not bad considering in Manitoba my 01 Roadglide was over $3000.00 a yr.

Indiana ... Plates for my three bikes are $55 to $60 each and my insurance cost me less than $200 each for 12 months of coverage ... two of my bikes are 22 years old and one is 10 years old

mine are 16 bucks cheaper than my cars. it's a vehicle reg fees are reg fees... not worth drawing a line in the sand. want no fees... get a moped.

Mine is half the cages...but the tire store gets it back when he charges twice as much for two tires as what Cosco charges for 4 and they have a road hazzard warranty.
