Default Foot Peg Question

Solid aluminum pegs + Average Dyna vibration = Annoying over time, or non-issue?

I consider my vibration level to be "average" overall. Not extreme, not non-existent... Just curious what others have felt (literally) who went from OEM cushion pegs to solid metal...

After polyurethane front motor mount I had some vibes in my pegs on my fxr. I bought these cheap anti vibration pegs. Vibes are gone , mount has settled in and all is good. I have about 1k on the mounts so far so good!

Thanks... I've been looking for something with a sleeker, less bulky appearance than the stock pegs - But I don't want to end up feeling like I'm standing on a thousand-fingers mattress all the time (if those still exist - they did when I drove trucks in the '80s). I've been thinking about something similar to these Speed Merchant pegs, but maybe less pricey...

Some riding boots absorb more vibration than others, so that can also be a factor. I've never tried those MX style toothed pegs, but for me it's more important to have a good grip than vibration damping. So I always end up with some type of rubber surface to the pegs.

I scored some Rusty Butcher big Foot pegs on eBay for $60. They are mx style. As soon as they get here, I'll report back. I've always had rubber pegs.

Sounds like you're thinking along the same lines I was. Those SM pegs were on my list. So was Arlen Ness knurled. I was pretty well settled on Speed Dealer Customs (great price, good selection) until I found the Americana Speed Shop pegs (more expensive, but closer match for my needs).

I had to have the Americana pegs finished as they're only available in raw. I did powder coat, but should have done a hard anodize.

Just some thoughts...
