Default Hello again

hello, I am looking at my first HD purchase. Need help deciding on a ride.
im short, 5’5”. Going to do some 2up riding. Really like the FXDWG and that’s what I’ve been looking at.
Looking for used with 5k cap.
its gonna be tough finding one in that price point but I know they are out there cuz I lost 2.
is there another model I should look at considering going 2up quite often?
looks like 2000 and earlier are in that price point. Right now I can get a 2000 with 35k on odometer but won’t budge off 4800. Not really sure if that is a fair price or not. Looks clean and sounds good. No funny noises from the motor.
any advice appreciated.
thanks in advance

Softail Delux is the lowest stock traditional bike other than the “low” late models. I ride 2 up all over the country on our FLSTC and it’s plenty comfortable.
IMO a Softail will give you more comfort on extended 2 up rides than a wideglide.
4800 for a 2000 wideglide is a fair price if there are extra goodies and a non-modified engine. IMO once someone has started to monkey around and “build” an engine I’m not interested.

I bought a 98 with 5000 miles on it for $5K early this year. Keep searching.

At 5'5" I would go sit on one and make sure the ergos are OK for you. You may be better off with a Low Rider.

I have ridden a dyna before and was ok on it. I found a 97 with 9000 for 5k. adult owned but has been sitting for a year.
i will be doing more solo riding but definitely the misses is gonna want to enjoy some time too.
not sure where to really begin as I’m sure local dealers are probably not going to have an inventory of those for me to go test the waters. New rides no doubt but those are no where near my budget.

It will be very rare to find anything older at a dealer. Look in the want adds, Craig’s list, buy/sell sites in your area.

The pre-06 Dynas are superior for 2-up due to the frame-mounted passenger pegs. You may want heavy duty shocks depending on combined weight.

The Wide Glide has forward controls. You may find them to be a stretch.

what are the best years to look for with that budget? I seen a thread where someone put specifics of year ranges to look at and stay away from but I can seem to find it.
