my streetbob started stalling and low idle a couple of days a go, I just put shell 91 octane gas in it ordered a new IAC as per forum, any ideas.

 

Did you try cleaning the IAC before buying a new one?
Check for codes. Inspect battery and ground cables to make sure they are tight and clean.

 

yeap, tried all of that , sprayed iac with carb cleaner ran a little better .

 

Old thread I know but I had all the typical issues, bike would wanna stall when stopped at lights or wherever, hard starting when hot and other random idle issues. What fixed my 2013 street bob was putting in a new idle control motor. I tried the cleaning trick, tried changing the tune I was running, kept my battery fully charged, new tps and the idle control motor was the cure. Hope this helps anybody else out there.

 

At what RPM does your SB normally idle?

 

I had same problem. Cleaned IAC and it was enough to stop the stalling. A week later went for a ride and hit a long straight and went to top end for a few minutes and I felt it couch. Later my buddy that was behind me said my bike belched a big cloud of black smoke.

I guess cleaning the IAC didn't clean as much as loosened it up til the junk got sucked into combustion.
