Just wondering if anyone has had problems with
the IAC on there bike and if so what were the
symptoms .
I have an 08 Street Bob and the problem I am having
is it will go to a fast idle and not lower .
When I shut it off at high idle it is then hard to start

What I've read is guys will use some carb cleaner and spray it in the IAC valve while cycling the ignition. Apparently it'll clean the gunk out and the IAC should move freely.
Mine goes to low idle but every once in awhile it'll be high idle. I keep meaning to clean the IAC but always forget until my bike wants to stall due to low idle.
Mine will do that at initial cold start up if I hit the gas or take off before the idle drops down. I confused it once where the bike would not stay running. Shut it off for like 10 seconds and it fired right back up. Now I quit being impatient and let the idle come back down before I take off and no problems.
I have had the problem happen a couple of times with no code showing
but today it triggered code P0118 ET Sensor Voltage Open/High EFI
ET Engine Temperature sensor
I havent looked to see where the sensor is located and if the connector
might be loose

I did that after it happened the first time , it happened when i was riding Yosemite & Kings Canyon over labor day and the temps were 90 to 100 degrees I cleaned it when I got back and it has run fine since then but the temp had gotten cooler This past Sunday it got hot again and the problem came back . Since my first post it triggered code P0118 ET Sensor Voltage Open/High EFI ET Engine Temperature sensor
