I've used Mobil 1 in my RKC since it was new. The bike gets new lubes every Spring.
15 years and it's still going strong!

I use Mobil 1 in my cars, trucks, outboard, garden tractor, and even my snowblower. and use Mobil 1 V-Twin 20W-50 in my LR engine, Mobil 1 4T 10W-40 in the primary, and Mobil 1 75W-90 gear lube in the transmission.. Never a problem.

I use Syn3 in the motor and Redline in the primary and trans. Really quieted down the primary and made shifting much smoother. HD says to use Syn3 in all 3 holes, I just dont see how one oil to do all three specific jobs well.

. If you stick to the top 6 or 7 brands you should have no problems to.

Yes , and in fact, probably on the same level as the % is not off much.
My point is the answer is not blowin in the wind, or opinions on the net, but on real-life/ live test.
For me, it is better to choose by the numbers, rather than have it chosen by someone that might know less then I do.
If we go by opinions we might as well choose by the color of the label as it is just as valid.

dude this is actually a pretty great read! thanks for posting this. so the clear choice for me would be amsoil of course. its readily available and passes everything with flying colors. i feel like the really hit the high points such as high temp viscosity, high shear strength, great levels of zinc etc.

one thing that really surprised me was the wear test with syn 3....why would anyone want to put that in the trans or primary (based on the gear wear test alone)!? otherwise syn 3 had some pretty decent results. overall a very comprehensive document and made my choice much easier. i wish they would have had redline as well.

If you look I am sure you can find where Red line is tested.
Somewhere on the net it has to have been tested and posted.
