It's been a while so my memory is kinda fuzzy, but on my 2010 FB I think there were three hoses that were connected to the canister: one to the fuel tank vent, one to the throttle body, and another one that went to the "atmosphere" somewhere under the tank (your bike's setup may be slightly different but similar). Disconnecting/removing the hoses is fairly simple (you may have to unbolt the rear of the tank and prop up for better access), and remove the canister with bracket. I recommend you save all the parts in case they're ever needed for the future. Important: after pulling off the hose at the throttle body be sure to cap the vacuum port, otherwise the motor will suck in raw air. That should be pretty much all that's needed. As far as the ECM is concerned I haven't noticed any ill effects - the motor runs fine. Hope that helps.

You won't ever know or notice any difference in the way it runs and there are no sensors to trigger the computer, the only difference is that it won't be there anymore when you look.
