Default rear master cly loose

I was changing brake fluid on my 2003 wide glide and noticed that the rear master cly moves a little side to side. The nut that retains it is tight and it seems that master cly is moving on the insert in the master cly body reservoir. It doesn't leak and has a good peddle. Is this normal. 2003 wide glide 14000 miles

Post a picture.
I would start to disassemble and see how it’s mounted, check out the fsm or parts book to better understand how it is built.

Remove the bolts and install lock washers. It's not supposed to move

Inequality of the constant application(s)will be the foremost lost in the fastener assembly as demonstrated
if not installed correctly.
In all probability, the obvious answer is without the washer assembly the bolts dead headed.
You will have to ensure the circular media around the shank is not damaged.
In all likely hood, they have chaffed away.
Renew with grade 8
Perhaps run a chase dwn the threaded holes also.

Mine is solid so I've never looked at it close enough to see how the reservoir attaches to the MC. Apart from removing the exhaust, it's easy enough to R&R. Best guess, the reservoir and MC are sold as a unit so you may have to get creative or replace the whole thing.

If I recall correctly from installing my True Track stabilizers, the rear brake caliper on my 2003 SuperG mounts by a single large nut on the rear of the caliper to a bracket that's built into the frame. I wanted to pull that caliper loose to get more clearance for installing the rear stabilizer bracket, but didn't want to risk breaking the hydraulic seals and adding one more thing to the project.

Two pics from the microfiche below. I think the mounting nut may be number 11 in the first pic. I circled what I'm guessing is the mounting bracket/tab on the frame for it.
