Wide Glide style tank on FXD

I'm about ready to purchase this for my new-to-me '99 FXD. This should fit my frame the same as the stock tank, without interference with the seat, correct? Thanks in advance!

Yes it is. Especially when you consider the arm and leg price people on EBay are asking for tanks with dents, and maybe rust. I know these foreign made tanks need some work to get them ready for paint. I don't have a problem spending a little time sanding and sealing.

Looks just like my 99 DWG tank BUT note the left fuel bung... On the stock tank, the sender and gauge both use the left hole. It's not threaded for a cap and has the proper cutouts in the bottom for the sender to be secured and sealed with a gasket. Not sure how the import handles fuel level, if at all.

Not a deal breaker for me, but thought you should be aware.

Yeah, I'd loose the gas gauge with this one. They make an identical tank, to use the fuel level sender for more money. Not worth it to me. Only 1 bike I've owned has had a gas gauge, so not a big thing to me. Besides, this will be my first step in giving it an FL flavor, so what I'm trying to emulate didn't have a gas gauge either.
But back to my original question, this should fit my FXD frame without any problems, shouldn't it?

Based on appearance and description alone, I'd say yes. I believe the tank mounting points are the same for both FXD and FXDWG (which I have).

Without dimensions or first hand reports...you may need to be a guinea pig...

My brother put a 00 or 01 wide glide tank and dash on his 97 super glide. The tanks mount the same.

Thanks for the information. I was pretty sure that was the case. I'm set to order it when I get paid Friday. Actually, I saw a decent looking dash housing on EBay and already have that sitting in the garage.
