Ok, This might be a dumb question but I've always went off the motto, "The only dumb question is the one you didn't ask".
I want to lift the tank on my '08 Street Bob 2". I have been looking on Ebay at different tank lift kits and the style I want keeps saying it wont fit my bike. I really like the price of the 'bent bolt' style but they seem to only fit the Sportsters. Is it because the bolt that goes through the factory tube is too long/short? I figure I could just buy a bolt the right length if that's the case. It can't be a spacing thing since each side is a separate piece. Couldn't I just buy the Sprty kit, a proper length bolt and bingo...2" tank lift? I already have extra fuel crossover hose and vent tubing so it's not so tight.
