Once upon a time I'm fairly sure you could get factory accessory chrome wheels for the Dyna Switchback. I've been thinking about replacing the rear spoke wheel on my '09 FXDC, and I think a chrome Switchback wheel would look perfect.
I don't see them listed anywhere anymore, other than chrome exchange on eBay. I've considered buying a non-chromed wheel (part # 41929-12A) and having it chromed, but if I can buy one already done I'd assume that would be cheaper. If I have a part number I might be able to track one down somewhere. Anyone have an older P&A catalog that has them listed??
Yep, those are definitely it. Figured there wouldn't be any out there, let alone being able to buy a rear wheel separately.
Edit: Looks like front and rear wheels were never available separately, which probably shouldn't be surprising. I'll look into either having a plain one chromed, or consider other options.
Does the switchback rear wheel have the deeper pockets for the wide bearings? The switchback released in 2012 used the narrow 25mm bearings, I'm not sure what the 09 Dyna has stock.
I bought a new Switchback with dealer installed chrome wheels and lower forks. I would like to see a 21" front wheel of that design though. Good looking wheels I think.
I'm not I understand you correctly ... You could buy those wheels (Front or Rear) right from Harley's P&A (listed in the Catalog)
.
I definitely misunderstood -- I had somehow interpreted 40900077 as being the front and rear kit, but it is in fact just the rear wheel and associated hardware.
I've reached the limit of my googling skills to no avail. I've got a email into a local chroming shop for a quote, othewise I'll explore other options.
