V&H Straight Shots aren’t loud enough
#12
I have a set of V&H Straight Shots on my bike right now, and if I could find a set of SEII slip ons I'd throw the Straight Shots in the trash! Worse sounding slip ons I've ever owned. They sound loud, tinny, and pop and backfire constantly when shifting....IMHO, they suck.
I've got those on my '07 Street Bob. The quiet baffles didn't quiet it down, just gave it a deeper pitched rumble. No tinnyness. (is that a word?) Also, no pop or backfire at all. I did get a top notch dyno tune after I installed some Andrews 48 cams, which probably has something to do with that.

The bike has the stage 1 download which isnt optimal but I don't I don't want to spend $500 on tuner.

I’ve been riding my 2005 dyna super glide for a couple of months now, and for some reason I feel like my straight shots aren’t loud enough for me. Don’t want to completely remove the baffles, anyone ever go with the BCT Monster baffles? Have read some mixed things about them.

Just did the same thing myself. I had a pair of stock mufflers in the garage. I tried the super Q baffles....wasted $106....and still didn't like the sound. As I said before, they're the worst sounding slip ons I've ever heard. Anyway, took about an hour to put the stock exhaust back on, and it's definitely a big improvement. I listed the V&H's on Facebook Marketplace for $100.
