I've got those on my '07 Street Bob. The quiet baffles didn't quiet it down, just gave it a deeper pitched rumble. No tinnyness. (is that a word?) Also, no pop or backfire at all. I did get a top notch dyno tune after I installed some Andrews 48 cams, which probably has something to do with that.

I occasionally get popping when upshifting. I always get popping on downshifting.

The bike has the stage 1 download which isnt optimal but I don't I don't want to spend $500 on tuner.

I didn't read all the posts, so idk if you hot your answer or not. I had a set of Big City Thunder inserts in my Python slash cuts on my 2005 Low Rider, they sounded awesome! I got many compliments on them!

I tried a couple different baffles but still didn’t like the sound of my Straight Shots. They were annoying on trips, so I went back to stock.

Just did the same thing myself. I had a pair of stock mufflers in the garage. I tried the super Q baffles....wasted $106....and still didn't like the sound. As I said before, they're the worst sounding slip ons I've ever heard. Anyway, took about an hour to put the stock exhaust back on, and it's definitely a big improvement. I listed the V&H's on Facebook Marketplace for $100.

TTIs are the way to go. Have them in my Big Shots Long and had them in the Longshots before that.
Loved the sound of the Longshots, but moved to the Big Shots to get the cross over chamber.
TTIs in either set made them better sounding and performing pipes.
