Default Solo seats

I'd like to get a solo seat, but the HDs are a little out of my budget. Any suggestions for a quality seat at a more reasonable price? (06 Super Glide Custom)

I love my Mustang Vintage Solo - firm but super comfy, great quality, no fatigue. Shop around - found mine new on ebay under $150 last Spring.

Does a stock Street Bobsolo seat fit, i suspect it does. They're cheap as chips on E-bay US and good quality. I agree a new HD seats are very exspensive, i think the "Sidekick"(plain) seat i got eventually from Guernsey HD, V.A.T. free for £322/$644 should have been around £380/$760 from a dealership in the UK. I've actuallybought HD parts new and2nd handthrough E-bay US at a dealer value of £1000/$2000 for around £450/$900 including shipping and extra customs charges, no **** ups so far either. Just looking into a brand new "Stripper" seat they're on E-bay for $295/£150+ $62/£31, probably cost another $70/£35 in customs charges still over $200/£100 cheaper than the UK

The Sundowner solo and Mustang Vintage solo both list for around $200. You can get either new for at least 20% off list price. Look at the classifieds on the bike forums, you should be able to find something used for half of new price. The take off Street Bob of FXD seat is an excellent idea, but you said 'quality seat'. What exactly is your budget if $175-$180 for a new Sundowner or Mustangis out of range?

Mustang Wide Vintage Solo here. Had to get the rear pillion also since the wife found out she likes to ride. I got it brand new from E-bay from the seller American Classic Motors. Worth looking into...

Another vote for the Mustang Vintage Solo here. I bought one 3 years ago and haven't been sorry at all.
