Default Question on the headlight eyebrow.

I have a 2006 dyna Super glide FXD/I. The stock OEM eyebrow or headlight cover looks like it has a screen or something under the gauges. What is this for? Thanks

Picture would be helpful. Is it the wire loom?

I was thinking "what part is he talking about on a 2006?"

Then I remembered ... I told you 3 weeks ago in another thread that you have a 04-05 (probably 05 if you think it is a 2006)

You'll get better results listing the correct year

That should be the decorative plug to cover the hole in. Guess what it's hiding. Hint - top mounted headlight.

the area I am looking at is rectangular and hidden under the gauges behind the headlight adjustment cover. Later I will take a picture of what I am looking at. The area is about 1.5 inches by 2.5 inches aproximately. I thought that it may be something for other models. It is hard to see with out looking close under in the back of the headlight cover.

Now I feel like a total idiot. For the past couple of years since I purchased the bike from my brother, I thought it was a 2006. I was wrong. My Super glide is a 2004 FXD/I. I sure am glad that the Dynojet Power Commander 6 worked with this bike since I based it on a 2006 twin cam. If it was not for peoples help in here I would have continued to be wrong.

Thanks for the information, you are absolutely correct, I have been wrong for a couple of years now. The bike is a 2004 Dyna Super Glide FXD/I. Now I feel like an idiot. I always somewhat questioned to myself about the 5 and 6 spd transmission. Mine has the 5 spd. I will upload a picture of the rectangular area under the gages later today.

According to Ronnies, that's part number 67834-83 TRIM, HEADLAMP BRACKET. It doesn't look like it's available any more.
