Default A few issues happening concurrently.

2014 FXDWG. Bike ran perfect, super reliable. Then did Andrews cams, adjustable push rods, new OEM plugs, brand new HD battery that I had plugged into the tender for a couple days before starting. Did 8 decent runs on Autotune with the PowerVision to create a new map over the course of 4 days. Now on startup getting this intermittent cough/spit sound (attached video) sort of a misfire maybe? Once I'm riding it's gone. But I am getting the red dot and codes while riding. Seems like the red light comes on when I lay on the throttle to pass. But not exclusively.

PN 48350-12 (No clue)
P 001118-01 (Engine temp sensor high or open? ET Sensor High?) Could this be my tune for some reason?
U0156 Lost comm w/SPEEDO
U0100 Lost comm w/ECM
U0142 Lost comm w/RHCM

I looked at the related sensors. This bike only has 9600 miles. The sensor areas look spotless, basically brand new.

Could this new battery be the issue?
Could it be air getting in at the exhaust flange?
Something off with the pushrod install?

This may have absolutely nothing to do with your problem(s) but did you pull the Main Fuse on your bike before changing the battery?

No. Oops.

This guy had the same thing going on. But his conclusion can't track as my fuel pump has not been molested.

This member is experiencing the exact same issue: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/engin...at-idle-4.html

Another member had this problem and discovered an issue with his fuel pump. It had been molested, ours have not, but it does suggest this has something to do with a lack of fuel. My bike is immaculate and very low mileage, so this is double frustrating and confusing for me.

I suspect it's the fuel map. I changed everything in my fuel tank (pump, filter, hoses, pressure regulator and housing) but this did not solve the issue. I checked coil, wires, etc. Did you update yours after putting new cams?

Yes. I loaded a canned map supplied by FuelMoto for the new cams and then built an autotune map using 8 runs. One of the guys who experienced this issue tried loading different (older) maps to solve it and it didn't work. But I was planning to try rolling it back a couple maps anyway and see what happens.

Question then is how does the PV autotune end up with a problem like this? I don't know what I'm looking at in the various menus, but on any of the maps showing colored cells and values nothing was out of whack compared to examples online of the previous maps. If anything the most recent one was the richest and to my understanding the sputtering issue and codes would be a lean issue.

Since my bike is 06 without O2 sensors, there is no auto tune in my setup. Mine is also FuelMoto map but since I bought PV4 from them, they provided map tailored to my bike. But looks like idle is way out, haven't tested it on the road since I thought sputtering was something seriously wrong with the engine.

Lots of funny odd things can happen when you simply don't do that. Try pulling it out now and wait a few minutes before you put it back in.

It's worth a shot. I always forget because removing and installing the battery on my bike is a nightmare due to the useless ****ing ABS unit blocking access to the cover screw. It's way out of finger reach so getting it to thread without dropping and losing it somewhere in the swingarm junction is worse than you can imagine. So every time I have to do it I'm wracked with anxiety and forget the fuse.
