Hello to all from Tulsa, Ok. I finally made the plunge when I ran across a 2006 SB repo for a price I just couldn't pass up. The bike looks good, but does need a little TLC which brings up this question. I've always ridden metric bikes before this, and am completely sold on Metzler tires, BUT I can't find a Metzler 180/17 bias tire. Is there any problem with running radial tires with tubes instead of the 180 Bias Dunlops?

Can't answer your tire question but welcome and congrats on the new bike. A buddy of mine just replaced his stock dunlops with Metzlers and is very happy with them. He's running tubes but I don't know whichmodels he bought. I do know he's not running a 180 on the back.

Congrats and welcome. I believe if you check the Metzler website, you can run their radials with tubes but they caution that you must use their tubes. Enjoy your new SB.

If Metzeler says it's OK to do what you want to do, like Black Bob says, then I;d go for it. If there is any doubt, then go to a different brand, it's not worth taking a chance, and I like Metzeler as much as you I'm sure!

Welcome to the forum! I have family in Tulsa and used to live there before I joined the Navy. Wish I were back there. Enjoy the bike!
