Who has forward controls and left the midset pegs in place?
I want to put forward controls on my 07 Super Glide, but also want to keep the midset pegs in place to give me some foot position flexibility.
Anyone set up this way and if so, was there any interference with the forward set up and the midset pegs?
Also, do the majority of kits just let the shifter shaft "drop" at the back of the primary? (No primary removal for installation).

I just installed the HD forwards on my 97 Lowrider, I left the mid pegs in place just like you want it set up. It was no problem. I like you wanted another position for my feet on those long trips. No primary removal, put a cap on the shifter shaft and bolted the shifter to the crankcase with the supplied retaining clip. It's a sweet set up. I'm a novice and it took me only a couple of hours. Good luck!

I have the set up your thinking of. personally I like it when I'm riding across a distance so I can move my feet around. I posted some pics of the mounts with the forwards on another thread....new mods/pics of my 07LE Lowrider jake In iraq was the author of the thread.

Thanks Guys..
Sounds like an easy instal and comfortable set up.
I have highway pegs, which SHOULD be like have forward controls, but you know how things work.... What looks similar in form and function can be very different.
I have been looking at the Kury set up - about the same as HD but may have a nicer finish.
I will check out the pics too longboarder..

I left my mid pegs on when the forwards went on 2 years ago, but then, I have a solo saddle on the bike and left the passenger pegs on also, go figure It's good to have a place to move your feet around on a long trip and beside, if you position your feet just right, you can rest your heel on the mid peg and the toes on the forward control peg, kind of like a cheap floorboard.
