Fat Bob Squadron - owners check in!

I just picked up a 2008 Crimson Red Denim. Its my first HD, but far from my first bike. I rode sport bikes for years, and had a chopper for a short time last fall. I was looking for a cruiser and looked at all brands and models. I didn't like any of the metric models, and couldn't really find an HD that I was in love with until I saw this bike. I love the style, the ride, and most of all the color.
Its pretty much stock with minor additions like an HD tach, axle nut covers, gas cap, etc.

Hey Scott. Disposable foam earplugs that they sell in hardware stores make a huge difference and you can still hear traffic, etc. They will help a lot, or at least be good enough until you make your windshield choice.

Hi Guys
I am about to put some new rubber on my bike as current ones are nearly shot.
I can get the Avon Venoms here for about $150NZ (about $105US) less than either the Dunnys or Metzeler 880's and from what I have read, they are every bit as good.
really just checking to see if anybody has any updates on opinions of these tyres?
cheers
Mac

Windhsields & ear plugs - I have thequick release and am 6 foot tall. Works fins & I really like that I can pop it off in the summer when I want the wind in my face! As far as noise goes, for $40 - $70, you can get a good parir of noise-CANCELLING ear buds that block out a lot of the engine noise (and some wind noise as well). YOu can use them stand-alone or plug them into MP3 player. THey run a a single AAA battery.
