anybody have the thunderheader 2 into 1
i have the rush slipons on my fatbob and love the sound, it just doesn't get loud enough for me. i rode with some guys last weekend and i couldn't even hear my bike. i like the thunderheader 2 into 1 ceramic but can't find a sound clip anywhere. i'm trying to decide between these and big radius 2 into 1, wish they were optioned in black , i know the big radius are in black now.

thunderheader makes black pipes
awesome awesome pipe
4 out of the 5 bikes in my garage are all set up the same way
S&S air cleaner and thunderheader
great combo especially with a k&n filter
you will notice a considerable amount of sound and performance
my personal favorite pipe

Hey - new member...first post reply.
I just scored a brand-new '08 Super Glide Custom (vivid black..). It's freakin' Sweet!
Anyway, I do not have a Thunder Header installed yet, but when I was at the dealer this week picking up an SE Air Kit,
I did talk to them about pipes. At my dealer (North Texas HD...), they are big on the Thunder Headers. In fact, five of the guys who work there had their bikes parked out front, and they all had them (..I've noticed that a lot of dealers seem to rally around a particular pipe brand - some are big on Rineharts, others are big on Vance & Hines, etc..) The parts guy took me outside and he started his '07 Street Bob with one on it, and it sounded fantastic.
I also got passed today by a gorgeous Road Glide that had one on it - sounded great. The pipe is about 6 or 7 inches longer for those, so the note is a little more subdued.
My only concern on these is that they seem to discolor quite a bit at the end...the entire cone section at the end of the pipe turns brown/black. Every one of the bikes at the dealer had this, as did the RG that I saw today. Of course, functionally, this is meaningless.
They work great and sound terrific- they have a rich, deep rumble...a hint of bark.
Personally, I am still leaning toward a D&D Fat cat, but the Thunder Header has great promise. Keep in mind that the basic pipe purchase does not include heat shields. I think they're an extra $150.00. So, if you're going on price point, keep that in mind when doing compares.
Good luck with your decision.

Say, what do you guys do about the extra heating by the headers? Do the heatshields actually cover that, though it honestly didn't look that way to me I considered putting on heat tape but I was told by a local shop that those generally will cause holes on your pipe.
