Default RE: Sundowner seat ?

I had a 2 up Sundowner seat , I had to cut it down so I can be flatfooted when I stop . My wife loved it , she rode 500 miles to Sturgis with me without problem .

I put a 2up sundowner deepbucket on over the winter and i have rode cpl short trips and liked it.

Got out yesterday and rode 130 miles and i tell you what that seat is 1,000 times more comfortable than the stock seat and i look forward to the comfort come cpl weeks and this summer when i start doing 500 mile trips plus.

I am 6ft 1 and the seat put me in perfect reach for the bars and gave me little room on the mid controls i wouldn't trade love it best money spent so far on comfort.

Put one on Fat Bob for 3 weeks, took it back, hated the (IMO) POS. Sits up too high, pushes you forward, too wide, I think the Fat Bob stock seat, (while absolutely worthless as a two up), is far more comfortable and sits just right. Mind you the ole lady wasn’t too happy to loose that big fat worthless 11 inch wide two feet deep back seat, but life’s a bitch. I had a custom rear pad made that eliminates the bolt up the ***, levels out the rear so it’s not facing down hill to the fender. The ole lady can live with it, Plus I don’t have to trade in the ole lady. Both seats are crap design in one way or another in my opine, but the stock bob seat is great for #1, and in this case that’s me.
It might be a great seat on another bike. When I went looking at HD for a replacement seat, I was very disapointed in HD selection, I should have gone aftermarket and I am sure I would have found a good seat. I love HD but most of their seats are either butt ugly or uncomfortable or both. The Bob seat is the only HD seat I ever kept on the bike, it is surprisingly comfortable for the rider, too bad they didn’t think to make it a true two up.
If I change again, I might go for a barebones, had one before an liked it, and a pee pad.
If it was meant to be a frigin living room sofa, it would be sitting over casters not wheels.
Did I mention I didn’t like it?

I just use mine for when the wife comes along. At 5'6" it's a task to get my feet to the ground. It's gonna take a while at 155 lbsto break it in though, kindastiff still. Will probably have to get it cut down or do it myself sometime. I got rid of my solo and bought a lowrider seat for my everyday.

I have never felt uncomfortable on my stock Low Rider Seat. Mind you I had a Badlander on my Sporty.

I replaced the stock seat with one. GF likes it much better than stock. Changed to a Corbin solo as she rides with me less often. Sundowner goes back on when she is on. Not real fond of the looks, but it works.

This is what I put on the bike after my wife's first 200+ mile day on back. She was walking like a bow-legged mule and I knew if I didn't do something, she wouldn't ride as much. I put that seat on and it's all good. I will say that I think the seat is ugly, but there are several "ugly" parts on my bike that I will keep because they improve ride quality. I refuse to put form before function.

I got one, as everyone said it pushes you up and toward the tank a bit... My problem is that this causes buffeting with my detachable windshield///

Anyway, I got a new Momo helmet which I wanna try, maybe the buffeting was exagerated with the crappy HD helmet I got...

Pros: Cushy as hell and you can ride all day without your *** hurting. (Stock seat hurt my *** on anything over 100 miles)
Cheap price compared to alot of seats

Cons: Too bulky looking on a dyna
lifts you up so it decreases reach. I cannot back my bike up in gravel on any kind of incline with this seat. (5'-9" tall 30" inseam)

As you can see in my sig my legs are fully extended when I put my feet down. This was not the case with the stock seat.

I could live with the idea of two seats, but the ole lady loves to ride as much as I, she has been behind me for the better part of 25 yrs, I would be changing seats all the time, in fact I did that for a couple weeks, got old fast, even wore out the fender thread clip on thingy. I wish I hadnt lost my camera I would take a shot of the custom made add on, its really pretty sweet all things considered.
