Now I am between a rock and a hard place.

I like the look of the black band but I also like this:

Harley-Davidson Script Battery Cover Band

ARGH!!! What to do??? So many choices and not enough time.

I did a little bit of work in Photoshop and this is how the bob would look with the chrome Harley band:

Sun came out so I took a couple more. I really like the left side. Just enough shiny to accent the blackness. The right side, not so sure about...

I put one on mine. You have to get the gasket that goes with it because the stock one uses an O-ring
and the black one with fins is a flat gasket. I know because it took two trips to my dealer

I think the right side looks great. A/C cover is a really nice touch.

For the left side, I agree ..... Black Fin Derby Cover. OR, maybe somthing else from ECE with some black in it?

Your bike is looking sharp!

Love the bike and the work you have done. 2 questions......
1) What is the link to ECE?
2) Did you use the original filter and just buy the cover?

Thanks........

Rod,

ECE's website is http://www.azece.com. I used the standard SE filter and just put the capper on it. It's an open element.

Everyone else,

Thanks for the compliments. I appreciate it, even though I realize I haven't done much of anything to the bike. Your standard stuff really. Both those parts (horn cover/battery box) can be replaced for next to nothing. I was just bored really. I'm probably not even going to keep that box on. I mentioned before that I picked up a chrome flat-profile box that I plan on sanding and painting. Only after a I opened it did I realize it had a contour along the bottom that looks stupid (plus some crappy HD stripe thing that I peeled off). So, I bought some bondo today and am going to see if I can fill that contour in and make it completely flat. I may even experiment by leaving some of the chrome visible in a cool design (maybe flames!). I dunno. It's just fun and cheap enough to play with. Also, I may blacken out that maltese on the A/C cover. Black is beautiful.

Oddly enough, I find the Night Train too black, if you can believe it. I'm weird.
