Default San Antonio Help!

I recently moved back to San Antonio. I used to do most of my own maintenance in my buddies garage and when Ididn't have time to do it myself I had a local shop thatI could trust to not rip me offwhen I lived in Dallas. Unfortunately I am garage-less down here, and I don't have as much free time to tinker on the bike. I wanted to know if anyone knew of any reputable indy shops I can take my bike to get serviced? I went to a local dealer, and they are booked out almost a month. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I know the owners of Alamo City, so I just take my Bob there. Not sure of any indy's. I'll ask around.

Go to Sachez on Thursday night and find Ruben. If hes good enough for the Red and Gold he's good enough for the rest of us. That and Jimmy has a joint up there in Hill country kind of a ride but hell I love riding up there anyhow.

I second Alamo (good service), but there is always a wait. You can go in Saturday morning and sit in line first come, first serve, but that sucks and you will wait all day...

We have several dealers here: Alamo, Gruene, Caliente, Javelina, depending on which side of town you are on. I have used one indy here to do tires, but he primarily does rice so I am not totally confident he knows my bike. Did a good job on the tires though, except he didn't torque my slipon clamps enough...he did know to flip my axle around so it's easier to get out. His name's Rick and has a shop over on Vance Jackson & 410. I'll post the phone # when I find it.

I don't use shops unless I have to, and we can't all afford to have the space and equipment to do everything. Wish I did...

"Mudpuddle" is a forum member from SA, has been around a while and should know the local biker community very well. You might want to send him a PM and see if he can hook you up with a shop or at least give you some reliable options.

Are you sure Mud is from SA? If he is him and I need to hook up when I'm home on leave. he seem like my kind of people. SA and its comunity has adopted me I have spent alot of nights at Sanchez ,hills and dales, the deer crossing etc. Sh!tI could go on for days and days. But it also just so happens that my bike is in SA being watched by some friends while I'm in the Sandbox.

cowboy, yeah I am in the SATx area. Gimme a holler when you are in Alamo Town.

PM if you need anything while you are overseas, and thanks for allyour efforts.
Pass that thanks along to your brother and sister warriors as well.

As for indy wrenches here, I only have personal experience with one.
He only works with EVO motors and earlier.
So I don't have a recommendation for the newer machines.

As for dealers, Javelina is my favorite, AlamoCity is real good as well.

Well I guess I'll see what Alamo and Javelina have to offer. I can't believe there is no indy down here that can work with twin cams. my poor baby is in desperate need of attention, so i guess i am going to have to cough up the dough until i can get my tools out of storage. thanks for the advice! also if you guys have any suggestions on places to hang out and meet like minded individuals let me know.

Those names don't ring a bell cowboy.

Be sure to give me a call when you make it back to this neck of the woods.
