I've seen alot of riders out there and it seems I like to ride alot faster than most. Like I'll see a bike or 2 or 3 ahead so I catch up but then I notice I was going way faster than them in the first place and I'll have to downshift and putt along to stay behind them. I don't rev the bike crazy or anything but I notice I'm often running 75 to 80 mph. While most are sticking to 55 or 65 mph. And that is when i'm not running 85-90. Six speed tranny so the engine isn't even breathing hard. It's a rubber mounted engine and being a harley i expect it to be tough.My dealer told me I could run it 85 all day and never hurt it.I dunno Iguess it isn't all that safe but man I just love the wind and the road! Don't be shy guys and bash the noob if I'm being an idiot ! I hadn't had a bike since 1977 and it never went over 60 mph on account it was a '71 yammie 175 enduro.I sure had alot of fun on that thing!

 

What's the rush? I think you will enjoy the ride more if you slow down some. Just plain safer too.

Dude I am with you, my bike ain't happy unless it is running over 80. I am always passing bikes. I try to be curteous and wave or nod as I go by. I give them plenty of room and try to avoid startling any one but that bike of mine just wants tofly. Its like it is begging me when I am cruising under 75. The only guys I don't seem to pass are those old guys who look like they road of the boat whenNoah docked after the flood. There must have been a jet engineer on the design team at Harley when they came up with the Street Bob.

 

Are we talkin windshield or no windshield? Cuz, without a windshield I can barely hold on past 75. Seriously, I like to ride away from a stop fast, but I usually settle into about 60 for cruising.

 

I like riding too much to go that fast. I'm never in that big of a hurry.

 

Yes I have a dettchable HD windshield,absolutely could not ride that fast without for more than a mile!

 

Goggles negates the need for a windshield. Besides, keepin yourself in the saddle at these speeds makes your tummy pretty.

 

If I'm not rolling at 75-80 on the freeway I feel like I'm not moving.If I don't want to go that fast I'll take my truck at least I can listen to the radio.

What's a good source for goggles? I have tried the Bobsters, but they just don't fit my face.
