Transmission fluid change
I have a 99 WideGlide I bought 4 weeks ago. \\; Had 4800 miles. \\; Took it in for 5000 mile service. \\; They put syn3 in all holes. \\; After reading forums, decides to put Mobil 1 at least in tranny. \\; Easy to change tran oil? \\; Where exactly is bolt to drain and anything else i do besides drain and fill?

RE: Transmission fluid change
I don't know exactly where your drain plug is, but on my '07 it's the plug on the bottom right side of the bike (the other two plugs for engine and primary oil are on the left side).
I don't know if this guy still has the manual for sale, but here's a 1999 Dyna Service Manual that will help you with maintenance questions. \\; It's a good buy for $25. \\; If this one is no longer available, still be sure to pick one up.

Bulldog,
I hope that when you refer to changing your tranny and putting in Mobil 1 you are referring to Mobil 1 Gear Oil and not the 20W/50 Mobil 1 V-Twin Oil. \\; I recommend that you use the Mobil 1 Gear Oil and not Mobil 1 20W/50 in your tranny. \\; You can use either 75W/90 or 85W/140 in the gear box. \\; I have better results with the heavier oil in my gear box because of the six-speed tranny that my 06 Low Rider has. \\; Good luck with your choice.

Bulldog - Tranny plug is on the right side (closer to rear brake). I have a '97 Wide Glide and the fluid level is 24oz and you need the bike upright (level) to check the tranny fluid level. I usually use a 2 x 4 under the kickstand for this.
Sclonghair - I would assume it is in the same general vicinity as described above.

I have tried syn 3, Mobil one, Red Line, Royal purple and finally Amsoil. I will take Amsoil over all the others, but Mobil 1, Red Line and Royal Purple are all good. I havent found anything better than HD or similar fluids for the primary, I tried red Line primary fluid, Mobil one 15x50, Royal Purple 20x50 and Amsoil 20x50, All sucked to one degree or another. Thought Amsoil would do the trick but changed it out almost as fast as I put it in, horrible in primary. Gear box seems to be best with Amsoil SVG 75x140 and Red Line HD ShockProof in that order.
Amsoil made a believer in me for all except primary. You should get good results with the choice you are making tho.
I know you only asked about drain location but I threw in my two pesos anywho
