Had a small, local shop do it. I dropped the bike off, had the pipes ceramic coated and the rims and fork lowers powder coated. Got the bike back 4 days later. He charged me $50 for the pipes.

I painted my shileds with a heat resistant exhaust color. Worked great after sanding the chrome down a bit...around 5-6 layers of spray, then had the engine running for 30 minutes. Still holds well...

1200 BBQ paint will do good on the shields... VHT 2000º ceramic paint for the actual pipes...( both available in auto store)

Did mine with VHT after hitting them with 100 grit and a DA sander.

i used a couple different paints before settling on Krylon because if you hold the can about 2 feet away the finish has a texture similar to ceramic, some people even ask me if they are. i used 220 grit wet or dry sand paper to scuff because i didn't think scotch bright would scratch enough for the paint to hold. the first painting i removed the shields, but when they need touch up i just wrap sheets around the rest of bike and spray another coat
