Default had a few things pcoated...furious!

i dropped off a horn cover, AC cover, side license plate bracket, and upper and lower shock covers for powdercoat (gloss black) last week

just picked them up.... and what a horrible job!... there's actually fish-eye on the parts.... i can live with the shock covers and maybe the license bracket.... but the horn and AC cover are inexcusable

i emailed the place that did it asking how many coats were applied, as i would simply like to wetsand and buff a few parts.... he's yet gotten back to me... next is a phone call

if i go there, i'll lose it

...i'm so pissed.... you live and learn, i suppose.... i'll never go to this place, again!

what to do, what to do... i just want the parts looking right!

SOB charged me 200 dollars too.... funny thing, when i went to pick the stuff up, he had EVERYTHING tightly wrapped in bubble wrap.... didn't want to spend time wrestling with that....so figured i'd check things out when i got home....man!....what a mess

i'm tempted to just send these things out to someone who knows what they're doing!

you can't wet sand and buff powdercoat. atleast that is what i was told by my coater.
so they will have to be redone.

Man, I feel your pain, I have been there more then once. It is not as easy as you would think to find a good powdercoater. Orange peel seems to naturally go with powdercoat and it takes the coater a LOT of time to buff it out and clear coat it, hence the cost. Good luck brother.

Make them redo it. If they refuse, dispute it with your CC company. If you paid with a CC.

So if you talk to the guy and he says he will redo it for free, does'nt that mean that you just wasted our time for nothing.

I can understand your frustration, but not giving the guy a chance isnt very fair. In fact, If I was the guy that did the parts for you and I saw this, I would tell you to get lost.

I have a local guy that coats all my jeep stuff, he does a great job and has more than once told me that my parts would be delayed because he had to blast them and redo them.....free.
