Default Bike Storage

I was told by a mechanic at my dealership never store my bike in a garage with a concrete floor. What would be the reason for this? The mechanic stated it hurts the tires. I have a 07 Superglide.

He's retarded.
A floor's a floor.
That being said, Sitting any length of time in one spot may flat-spot the tires.

Put a rug down, the cold cement gives you flat spots like someone said earlier.

Yes, go rent a jackhammer and rip all the concrete out of your garage. Then replace with nerf ***** and feather pillows as these will not flat spot your tires. FWIW, you should never ride your bike on concrete either as this will cause the tread on the tires to wear out and void your warranty.

WARNING: You should never operate a jackhammer while wearing fingerless gloves or ***-less chaps as this may cause SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH

lay down some carpet... the main issue with concrete floors is moisture coming up from it, lay down carpet and move your bike about every 2 weeks... i ride year round so it is not a big deal... yep even in the snowy winter... roads are clear i will be on em!

Yes.
That's it.
Carpet prevents moisture fom coming up through concrete.
We learned that in both rocket science and brain surgery class.....

+1 on that. I was told that carpet with the rubber backing was the best choice.

My uncle tried sodding the basement and adding lamps. Even tried the same thing in a old abandoned septic tank. He got 5 years for his efforts.
