I just bought a badlander seat off of ebay for my 08 street bob. It had the correct part number -06 but it doesnt fit. I know that there is 3 seats one for up to 03, one for 04 and 05, and 06 and up. The front mounting is the problem. How do I tell which seat that I have?

Which is which or what one fits? Take the bracket or tongue off the one that works and put it on the one that doesn't. Put it in the correct position on the new seat. Sometimes ebay stuff can be a problem. I bought some shocks I had to "modify".

 

on my 05 the front of those three designs of seats fit ... the rear is what is different in my experience...you sure it is not a sportster seat?

 

By the looks of the two seats in the picture, it seems obvious that they are not for the same bike. I have a stock seat and a Badlander and they both fit to the tank area the same? "Rounder" may be correct, it may be a Sportster seat.

 

agree with the others - that is not a dyna seat.

 

there is a guy on ebay that sold one seat with that part number (probably to you), and now has another one for sale with the same part number listed.
looking at the pics - there is no way they are the same seat.

when you find out what it fits - put it back on ebay and count your blessings - it's the most uncomfortable POS seat ever made. does look good - but really unusable if you actually want to ride your bike.

There is a number that is stamped/painted 1048450 which I could not cross reference

bring in to your dealer.. bet they can confirm you have a sporty seat and not a dyna one...
