Default Stupid question re FXDBI vs FXDB

Is there a difference between an "FXDBI" and an "FXDB" Street Bob?? I have looked all around for the answer and guess I am not looking in the right place. THis is of particular concern when looking at "goodies" I might want to buy!!

as mentioned - for some reason the "I" for fuel injection carried over from 2005 dynas to the 2006 dynas, then was dropped in 2007. In 2005 the dynas had FI or carbs, so the "I" actually had meaning. All 2006+ dynas are fuel injected, and since 2006 was the first year of the St Bob - all Bobs are injected. So - I guess the difference is that "FXDBI" commonly refers to 2006 bobs, and "FXDB" commonly refers to 2007+ Bobs. "Goodies" should fit either or with the exception of anything specifically related to the 96" motor, which was introduced in 2007.

Yeah, I'm new. I introduced myself a couple days back. Traded in my 2008 Nightster for a new 2008 Street Bob. I am totally in love with this new bike. Hubby says he thinks I'm riding even better, and it's true, I seem to have more confidence on the Bob, especially noticeable in the twisty turnies. Not sure why, but it just seems to handle better.

I kind of figured the I meant fuel injected, but wasn't sure. Thanks for the clarification!

very nice choice in bike... any customizing ideas?? if your into the blacked out look. checked out ebay for the black horn cover, and upper belt guard. or just take yours off and shoot em with some primer and wrinkle paint... you'll have fun customizing your bob... check out the under 50 bucks mods at the top, if you havent already. have fun with your bob!

yeah, the dyna is a bit more ballanced and less top heavy than your old bike.

I think I was surprised by the better handling because the Nightster is a "low" model of the Sportsters and NOT top heavy like the "regular" models - at least that's my opinion. Whatever it is, I just have much more confidence. Right now I'm tapped out financially, so mods will be slow in coming, but since we live in New England, I have the winter to think up things, browse catalogs, the internet, etc.

I may need to do some things to lower it a bit, but again, don't have a lot of $$ to spend right now, i.e, shocks, seat, etc. But the need to lower it really is just for better maneuering, like backing the beast up! Because I'm short, my feet aren't as planted on the ground flatfooted like I would like. I am just barely flatfooted, so it's hard to "dig in" to back up.

Thanks for all the input!

OK, no offense, you introduced yourself a few weeks ago and you already have over 600 posts?! You may want to try riding a little more than posting! My bike has been out of commission since Labor Day due to an accident, and I don't have a third of the posts you do!!!
