I'm no engineer but wouldn't a higher tank, especially when full, possibly raise the bike's center of gravity, just enough to hurt you in a fast and sudden tight turn ?
Does the new angle of the gas tank affect how the gas flows? I know it sounds like a dumb question....but i was thinking at a steeper angle as you come closer to running empty, more fuel would be in the rear of the tank. Will all this fuel still flow to the engine?
I believe that tank lifts first became popular in the San Francisco Bay area. Riding downhill would result in gas rushing to the front of the tank, causing stalling and stuttering due to the lack of gas flowing into the fuel petcock at the rear of the tank. Lifting the front of the tank helped keep more gas flowing to the petcock at the rear of the tank.
