In case you decide to have the push rod machined: here are some images of my bike's push rod.

It's a straight rod, 5/8" in diameter; I do not know the lenght of the threaded rear part...my guess it's about 1". Better make it 1 1/2" and cut of some slices when it appears to be to long.

Not shure if a forward control push rod can be modified; depends on the form (straight or Z-shaped) and lenght and the shape of the front part where it connects to the brake pedal.

My advise: have it machined out of a SS rod.

Please keep us informed which way you're going and don't forget to show some images when done!!

FXD2003Rider -- Thanks for the input. It looks like I'm headed to the machine shop. Not sure what the problems are, but your photos didn't come through. Could you resend they would be a tremendous help.

Is that you below the sign in Harmelen? It's been alot of years since I've been in that part of the world, but I always enjoyed myself and the hospitality was world class.

forward controls

Couldn't you just change from mid controls to forward controls. Looks like your brake pedal's already up there, then they'd both be even? Unless I'm missing something.
