Anyone other than me have difficulties getting in & out of the handlebar lock? I've found the sweet spot locking it but i have a hell of a time getting it unlocked. Could i have a defective lock or is it just something that is learned with practice?

Lube the mechanism. Don't push the key in to lock. To unlock if it feels like it's binding just give the bars a tug to take the pressure off the mechanism.
