Check out www.foxcreekleather.com and look for the lowrider saddlebags. The quality is excellent, price is very reasonable and best of all, you don't have to relocate your turn signals. They also offer something to keep the paint from getting scratched up.

If done right and if you get quality bags they should last a long time without messing up your paint.
I have to give credit of my "knowledge" to my hubby (who makes leather saddlebags). And you are right about the towel - that is exactly what both he and I did on our previous bikes. He rides and EG now so doesn't use his own bags - I will be putting bags on my new Street Bob come spring. So for those of us who like the old school look of throwovers, it really can be quite simple!

I have a set of Nelson Rigg throwovers that are like new, and they come with a soft paint protector. I'd sell em to you pretty cheap... They have a velcro joiner, so they can be used as a carry around set of duffles if you want, and have clips to attach a duffle to them, making it a three piece set. I tihnk I even have an extra matching duffle I'd throw in for a few more bucks.

if you're interested, shoot me a PM as I don't get over here to HD forums all that often to check threads.

Picked up a set of River Road off e-bay for 60 bucks. they are the large slanted kind. Just through them over my motherwell rack, no real issues.

I got this set from the States http://www.jafrum.com/Motorcycle-Lug...VC/SD4065Studs but wouldn't recommend you use them without supports, think supports and bags came out at around $150

Default Saddelbag Supports

If you decide to install some support brackets I have a set I used on my 2006 Street Bob.

They install using the fender bolts. I don't remember if you have to do a turn signal relocation or not. I think I already relocated mine before I used these brackets. I do have some of the hardware but I think I am missing some of it. I bought them at J & P cycles. I have since gone with the easy brackets. If anybody would like these for 35 bucks and I will pay the freight let me know.
