Default Installation of Chrome Lifter Block Cover

Has anyone installed one of these? There is one screw, the rear screw on the right side and trying to back it out without taking the exhaust loose is proving very difficult. All else went together fine but getting this screw out with the supplied long torx wrench just isn't working.

Is it a torx or a hex (allen) head? When I had mine off I had the exhaust off as well. The one I had the most trouble with was the one partially covered by the fins. Would have loved to had the ball end hex keys.

The only way to do this correctly and get the torque right putting them back on is to remove heads, jugs, pistons etc and go to a big bore kit. Problem solved.

Installing this was a PITA. Finally found the right combination of tools to get the &*^*%$ front-rear bolt out (and back in). Had to cut down a 3/16th, 1/4" bit to fit under the cooling fins:

Here's the finished project:

I cannot for the life of me get this trim piece off so I can access the lifter boxes. Two small screws removed one from each side bit it appears to have a set screw in the center. I think it may be only accessible from the left side of the bike but I can't really see it just assuming. Any tips on removing this trim to get to the lifters?
