Cool Put a windshield on my SB!

So i have signed up for the iron butt challenge here in VA happening next month, so im buying gear and getting the bike prepped for the trip. Well one thnig i looked into was windshields. Only problem, im on a budget and they are expensive. So being the cheap bastard i am, i went over to my buddies house with my bike last night, and we tried to fit the windshield off his '95 Honda Shadow 600. Amazingly enough, it fits really well! Its not as big as a standard shield, but its big enough! we are going to take it back off and paint the mounts black, help it blend in a little better with my bars. I cant post pics directly to the thread because im at work, but i added the pics to my gallery, take a look and let me know what you think!

Here are your pics

That actually looks pretty good.
Maybe I'll see you at the Redwing19 Ironbutt ride in May.

You might want to put a windshield bag or something above your headlight to fill in that gap between the headlight and the windshield. I bet some air is gonna come up through there and give you some buffeting.

Thanks for loading the pics!!!! My other budy who has an '09 fat bob was giving me a hard time. Of course the shield didnt bolt up easy as pie, took a little stretching and convincing to get it on, but once it was on, its good to go. But he said the reason we were having trouble is that my bike was rejecting the shield, lol. Told me not to be surprised if it was lying on the ground in the morning cuz the bike got sick of it, lol.

again it wont on 100% of the time, but when i got on trips, ill def be bolting it back on. Stil surprises me with how well it sits on there.

And yes, as long as everything goes well, ill be riding in may

I thought the same thing. I didnt get a chance to ride above 25mph last night after i put it on, so im going to go for a few test rides this week and see how it feels. But im sure ill put some type of bag up there to help black the wind. Plus it would be nicer to have a bag right up front up with me.

It kinda looks like a smaller version of my Memphis Shades shield that I put on for long rides...

Actually it looks perfect. What size do you think it is? I'd like to get something like that with quick detach.

dang, it sure does. The shield is also adjustable, so i can actually lower it closer to the headlight, so it fits tighter and lets less wind in, but becasue im kinda tall, being 6'0, ill have to ride around to make sure im not just taking all the wind straight in the face. Ill find a happy compromise.

Id have to measure, it, but if you compare my pics with 'piginablanket' pics, you can tell mine is a lot smaller. Ill be going over to my buddies place tonight, so ill take some measurements. I left my bike in his garage there last night. Had to drive the GF home.
