I have an 09 superglide and when i was riding yesterday i noticed a rattling sound coming from my speedo mount. It only seems to be noticable in a certain rpm range before i would normally shift. Anybody have this problem or an idea of what I can do to eliminate this noise?

 

Check the 4 bolts on the riser and make sure they are tight. Also check the 2 screws on the back of the speedo and make sure they are snug.

 

Did you verify that it was the mount by grabbing it when it was vibrating?

The reason I ask is because the chrome cover on the steering stem nut loosened up on mine and made a noise. Cured it with Permatex.

 

As stated above .... check the 4 risers bolts and the 2 small screws on the back. Also, there are 2 screws that hold the small electrical cover on the back .... those could possibly be loose as well.

I had an issue with mine and it turned out to be the light refractor inside the headlight. opened up the headlight and tightened the screw. I was able to jarr the headlight with my fist and hear the sound. Check it out.
