While (attempting) to filling up today, my gas cap fell, as fate would have it, right under the tire of a moving truck......it all happened in the span of about 8 seconds. Needless to say, $#&^ broke.


Go down to the stealership, they want 150 for a new one.......F that. I think surely someone one makes an aftermarket replacement, but all I am finding is the thread type caps. Maybe the words aren't in the right order of my Google searches...any suggestions or ideas? Thanks in advance

 

Type "Dyna fuel cap" into google and you will see results from jp cycles, drag specialties, eBay, etc. or you could spend about 200 on s flush mount cap and gage from HD.

Boardtracker, Surdyke, and eBay are your friends; the dealer? Not so much

 

HD flush mount fuel gauge and fuel cap kit $176 delivered from boardtracker in black or chrome. I'm, tempted and my cap isn't broken.

 

i I love the look of the flush mount kit. My only issue is the fuel cap trim ring likes to come off every so often.

All the posts on this forum about where to store your fuel cap while refueling and you let this happen. Shame, Shame!!!

 

That sucks. I took mine off the bike at about 100 miles and replaced with the flush mount. It's the chrome one off my '16 LRS. If you want it you can have it for $50 shipped.

 

yeah, totally my bad. I ended up changing the verbage though in eBay, found a replacement for 38 shipped.
