Having ridden sport bikes, sorta... before they were known as sport bikes, the FXDC is nothing like them. If you're going to miss riding the sport bike, keep it. The Dyna needs some serious coin to even come close.
I don't ride like that any more, although I do like to shoot a nice corner, but my FXDC is going to need a few things before shooting that corner is comfortable. A bit to "wiggly", and the reason is the swingarm is mounted to the tranny which is mounted to the engine, which is rubber mounted in 3 places, only one of which limits lateral movement.... the two bottom mounts will move laterally as well, which makes the rear not track the front so well.
There are two companies that make what amounts to 'mini panhard rods' for the two bottom mounts. That, a fork brace and different shocks and fork modifiers, would take care of the frame.
To approach the 145hp, will take some more serious coin. However remember the Harley engine is a torque engine, not a HP engine. You'll probably need to get something approaching 115 to 120 cubes.
I love my FXDC, but the application of a True-Track, fork brace, trued and welded crank, timken bearing conversion, SE compensator, lower end work, a 103 big bore kit, Andrews 37h cams, head work and a custom air cleaner, are in her future.

My 2 cents
I came out of the Gixxer world to H-D.. YES your going to miss the 145hp.. If it wasnt for the fact Im tired of folding up (6ft2) on a bike & wife wants to ride with me. I'd have one of those new buells 1125cr's could easily set it up for SPORT touring.
My check list for SPORT Touring would be.
Complete set of soft bags tail -145$ tank bag-142$ saddle bags-229$
It has a normal top clamp so replace clubman bars for a set of dirty bars. Making the sitting postion easier for the long haul.
Maybe some lower sets or not depends on how you fit the bike.
But Knowing the dealers lately they'll cut a hell of a deal & toss in lots of goodies to get the buells out the door.
I test road the 1125 & all I can say its not the "me-too" bike. Dealer here let me go for a good ride I hit some local stops everyone asked what the hell is that. Its got torque & to me thats what makes riding fun ... feeling the bike want to just pull away.
