Default swing arm bearings

ive heard that harley has had a problem with the bearings in the swing arms. any one know anything about this ?

Nope, but I did have a bit of play in mine so replaced it. They use a bushing on the right/exhaust side. Not much to go wrong there and mine was good. The left/drive pulley side has a heim joint, not really a bearing. I called HD asking what the allowable play was since not listed in the manuals. They couldn't answer since all they do is read the manuals. I didn't have a lot of play for a heim type joint, which it is. I didn't measure total play but would have been a few thousandths of an inch. The new one I installed was tight.
There is no/little lube in that joint and is not sealed so dirt grime etc can get in a wear it out over time. The service manual does say to clean it out periodicly, I forget the time/mileage span. I now spray a lubricant in there now and then for piece of mind.
