Default Pipes!

It just hit me, I should have used SEARCH..

But..

What are decent sounding pipes that aren't going to **** off my neighbors? Of course I want the beautiful sound to roar when I crack the throttle, but when pulling out of my neighborhood and/or cruising I don't wanna disturb the folks around me, nor do I want to wear earplugs.

In addition, which are good for performance? I realize I may need to remap/rejet depending on what I get.

Danke!

Well,... Alot of the sound can be controlled at the throttle hand. BUT,... there definately are exhaust systems that are alot louder than others. You will find that a two into one exhaust will give the best performance. I think the V&H Big Radius exhaust is the best looking exhaust on the market, but you will also find that its one of the loudest and also most expensive, and are pretty hard to get your hands on for the 06 Dynas. I chose the DynoPower tapered slipons because they were very low cost, under $120.00, and look like the factory mufflers but sound great. They are definately louder than the stock mufflers, but if you are mindful of your throttle while in your neighborhood then you wont have any complaints.

I just installed some Samson Street Sweepers (Big Guns 3) on my WG. Sound is excellent. Nice deep throaty idle and not too loud at speed. I'm very happy with them. Had the same concerns as you and everything is fine.

I just got some new neighbors, as I have apparently chased off 2 sets in the last 5 years. We'll see how long these ones last.

vance and hines seems to be one of the more popular choices. i've seen both the big shots staggered and the big radius on several bikes in person, and they look and sound great. I don't think they're too loud. I'd call 'em "just right". They're certainly not nearly as loud as a true drag pipe, or pipes with the baffles removed.
